Work Life Balance

“I have been a business owner for nearly 18 months now and noticing that it is starting to affect my home life. Will it get any better?”

Firstly, congratulations so many businesses don’t last that long.

Getting the right work/life balance is tricky and there is no ‘one size fits all’ answer or magic pill.

Many people either burn out, destroy their health or relationships by not getting the balance right. What is paramount in my mind is that you align your business goals with your family’s goals. Involve your family in setting some ground rules for time spent at work and at home. Discuss what your financial goals are and what those resources will be used for. Whenever you feel your home life is suffering call another family meeting to re-assess things and re-prioritise objectives if required!

If you need to give up more time at work then look to find future efficiency gains through systems or delegation. Yes, things will get better if you make work/life balance a priority.

Good Luck!
